Ideas for ebos - based on Symbolics Lisp Machine

Where no reference is given, the idea is assumed new.

Variables with texts as values are the fundamental idea.

Maybe we want texts with imbedded variables or text
substitution functions also.  See peano:>jmc>ideas.text.

ZMACS needs E's Xpo.

Zmacs needs better ways of adjusting the screen without
moving the point as in E.

Directories need to allow comments.

The Lisp machine doesn't have the equivalent of preview.  You
can find out what a command does in general using HELP, but
you can't find out what a particular instantiation would do.

Are buffers as distinct from files required?

I had probably better find out about the Sun, but I suppose
it just uses Unix.

Would the utility of Zmacs be improved by stripping out a lot
of function?  Perhaps we need an Art Samuel to write
Essential Zmacs.
